Our Mission & Vision

To Be a Living, Visible Demonstration of the Kingdom of God

We seek to become a formidable and reckonable force of God’s kingdom on Earth that unifies members of our society and people of all creed, colours and cultures in the body of Christ. Our goal is to build a church of faithful and committed God-loving and God-fearing people of all nationalities, a centre where all feel welcomed, loved and cared for and where diversity is celebrated.
Our vision speaks of our uniqueness as a church and this is explained in the following four Greek Words.

(Μετανοια) metanoia

It is translated as “repentance”. This word carries the expression of a turnaround in one’s life, a 180-degree turn, a turning to the opposite direction, turning from the evil to the good, from wrong to the right. Positive and godly change in lives is the key element here.

We encourage each one to come the way they are but we don’t expect them to stay the way they came. We don’t expect anyone to remain the same because the effect of a Godly encounter is a transformed life by the power of the Holy Spirit. The result of a new life in Christ is the abandoning of our old life-styles. Real change is letting your life become your testimony.

(Δύναμις) dunamis

(Acts 1:8.)

Translated as Power. From the same word we get dynamite. It is the power and presence of the Holy Spirit that differentiates the church from the club. Without Him (the Holy Spirit) the church becomes a club. It is our vision to lead every believer to an experience of the power of the Holy Spirit through the study of the word, prayer, praise and worship with supernatural gifts and manifestations in and through their lives.

Κοινωνία) koinonia

(1 John 1:1-3)

Translated as “fellowship” or “community”. The demonstration of a community fellowship life style is the vision that we pursue. Our vision is to take fellowship beyond the walls of the church to our homes. To be inter-connected to each other, serving and bearing one another. Being a multicultural church, love, patience and forgiveness will help us so much in this process. Our vision is to see the leaders serving first, not waiting to be served. (John 13:14, 35) Raising a community of people who are willing to serve, not waiting to be served.

(Κήρυγμα) kerygma

(1 Peter 2:9)

This is translated as “proclamation” or “demonstration” of the gospel. Our vision is to see every member become a strong, zealous, passionate and personal witness of the gospel of Christ. We have to begin with our friends and family, and then spread to planting new churches as we grow. A community of preachers, not one man to do it all.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Church of God is to spread the full gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19,20), in the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4, 6, 13-18), through specific attention to and emphasis on the centrality of God’s Word, world evangelization, ministerial development, Christian discipleship, lay ministry, biblical stewardship, church growth, church planting, family enrichment, and servant leadership.

Brief History

Solid Rock C.O.G Dublin was planted in January 2004 by the leading of the Holy Spirit as Pastor Nick Park led a team of believers from Solid Rock C.O.G Drogheda into Dublin weekly for a church plant; an effort which began in 2003. Pastor Emmanuel and his Wife Pastor Evelyn Might who had just newly moved into Ireland from Cameroon were part of the outreach team. They were appointed as Pastors of Solid Rock Dublin in 2004 and continued with the coordination of the church planting effort and have continued to pastor the Church since then

Our Values

We Value Fellowship

When we come together as a Christian community, we create and develop friendships that facilitates encouragement, prayer, edification, and accountability. (1 Thess. 5:14, Gal. 6:2). We believe in sharing our joys, sorrows, and challenges (Rom 12:15). We are dependent on God and interdependent on one another. We choose to carry one another’s burdens, encourage one another, warn, support and help one another because we care for each other (Gal 6:2). This is not accidental but purposeful because we choose to get to know one another personally.

We Value Diversity

We celebrate diversity as a gift from God. Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nationalities (Mat 20:19). We are excited that people from different nationalities, creed, cultures and colours come together in our church. We believe that our diversity expresses the creativity and eternal plan of God. (Gen. 12:3, Rev. 7:9-10) Diversity may not be without challenges, as someone said, but boredom is not one of them..

We Value Unity

The power of the Gospel to unite us is stronger than the power of our enemy to divide us. (John 17:20-23, Eph. 2:19-22) To be united to Christ is to be united to each other. Christ is the barrier breaker; in Him we are united. The unity of the Spirit exhibits the oneness of all believers in Christ (Rom 12:5). Our vision to reach the lost world and our mission to take gospel to them also unites us.

We Value Family

The constitution of family is Divine and it is the oldest institution on earth (Gen 1:27,28). In God’s wisdom He designed for us to co-exist as families in order to meet the inherent needs of man for care, love, belonging, training, protection and correction in love. We believe that ensuring the best for families is ensuring the best for the community and society at large because communities and society is made up by the families, and the stronger the families, the stronger the community and society. With this understanding, it is no surprise why we are experiencing the sustained attacks against the family institution, when families disintegrate, many lives are put at risk. That is why at Solid Rock we run specific departments that ministries to the whole family; children, youths, young adults and parents.

We Value The Bible

We hold the Bible as God’s infallible word, a guide for living life to the fullest, a standard for our conduct, guidelines for knowing right from wrong and principles to help us in a confused world where almost “anything goes” (2Tim 3:16). The message of the Bible is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ which is able to save, sustain and secure. Our aim is to center our life as a church on the gospel. It is not only the power that saves us but it is also the power that sanctifies us and helps us persevere to the end (Rom 1:16)

We Value Prayer

Prayer is a divine command and the life wire of our spiritual lives. It is vital for the sustenance of our faith, for our relationship with God and for the health of the local church. We express our faith and complete dependence in God through prayer. When we seek God through prayer as a local church, we are submitting to His will in all we do and accessing divine guidance and help. In moments of corporate prayer, we come into a spiritual moment of fellowship with one another and with the father. (1 Thess 5:17)

We Value Discipleship

We believe that conversion is the beginning of the Christian life, not its end. The ultimate goal is transformation of the believer from bad to good, from sinfulness to holiness, from wickedness to godliness (Rom 12:2; 2 Cor 3:18). Although transformation takes place only by the work of the Holy Spirit, the local church is an essential tool which He uses to conform His people to Christ’s image. Our aim as we carry out the great commission of Christ is not to stop at conversion but to make disciples or all nationalities and or all ages as we cooperate with the Spirit of God.

We Value Membership

We believe that membership matters. As Christians we are called to live in community with one another. Church membership involves a formal commitment to serve and invest in the life of a local body of believers. It makes visible our commitment to Christ, to the body of believers and to the world.
