DAY 17 – FRESH FIRE: PASSION FOR GOD AND HIS SERVICE

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord

— Romans 12:11(KJV)

The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.

— Leviticus 6:13 (KJV)

In the Old Testament, the fire on the altar was to burn continually — it was not optional, seasonal, or emotional (Leviticus 6:12–13). God commanded the priests that it should never go out. Why would God insist on unending fire? The answer is simple — it was a measure of Israel’s responsiveness to Him. Fire fades when no one feeds it. Tending fire represents active participation with divine life.

In the same way today in this New Testament, spiritual passion doesn’t disappear overnight; it cools when the heat stops being supplied. That’s why every Believer needs fresh fire — a living, burning passion for The LORD Jesus Christ and His service. God never designed your walk with Him to run on yesterday’s experiences. He calls us to be continually filled, continually stirred, continually alive (Acts 2:4; Acts 4:31).

PRAY: I declare that the fire of The Holy Spirit in me burns continually. I am alive, alert, and responsive to God at all times, in The Name of Jesus.

When The Bible says Believers were “filled with the Holy Spirit” in Acts 2:4, it wasn’t describing excitement — it was describing grace, power, divine energy released into human vessels for function (Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11). In the physical, fire transmits energy that causes movement. Cold objects remain still; heated objects expand. In the same way, spiritual fire expands a man — your capacity, character, clarity, competencies (Jeremiah 20:9; Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:3-4).

PRAY: The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead energizes my spirit. I function with divine abilities, divine resources, divine direction and results every day.

Why Does Fire Need Stirring?

The Apostle Paul told Timothy to “stir up the gift of God” (2 Timothy 1:6). Why? Because God supplies fire, but man supplies attention. Unattended fire dissipates. The Scripture reveals that the expression of spiritual realities are magnified or diminished based on focus (John 8:32, Philemon 1:6). Fire doesn’t respond to time; it responds to fuel. You don’t grow and glow spiritually because time passes — you grow and glow because truth is engaged. You stir up fire through the confession of The Word, and Praying in the spirit.

PRAY: I am aglow in the spirit — spiritually active, not passive. The Word of God dwells richly in me, filling my heart and mind, guiding my thoughts, speech, decisions and actions. My inner man is strengthened daily and stirred.

Fire Is Sustained by Fellowship, Not Feelings

The altar fire was tended daily, not emotionally (Leviticus 6:13). Likewise, fire today is sustained through consistent fellowship with The Father — not moods (Matthew 6:6). This is why Believers can remain fervent even in difficulty (Isaiah 40:31; Acts 4:29-31).

PRAY: God is faithful to me, He has called me into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ. I live from this fellowship, not from feelings. I am always connected to Him. My fire does not depend on circumstances. No matter how I feel, as I talk with Christ, my fire burns brighter and brighter. This fire ignites joy for Christ from within me; and the joy of The LORD is my strength.

Fire Always Expresses Itself Through Service

Fire that only burns inward eventually suffocates. True fire moves outward. The Scripture says we are “fervent (aglow) in spirit, serving the Lord” — not serving to become fervent, but serving because we are fervent (Romans 12:11; 2 Corinthians 5:14). Fire turns service from obligation into overflow. We don’t serve to prove devotion — we serve because divine life is flowing through us (Matthew 5:14–16; Philippians 2:15).

PRAY: The love of Christ compels me. I serve joyfully, excellently, and fruitfully because God’s life is at work in me.

Fresh Fire is not a call to chase just an experience. It is a call to recognize what already burns within you. Fan it. Feed it. Function from it. Fresh fire is not something we are waiting for — it is something we are stewarding.

PRAY: I steward the fire of God within me. I am filled with The Holy Spirit and alive with divine fire. I am fervent in spirit, consistent in fellowship, and fruitful in service. The life of God energizes me, and my life burns with purpose, passion, and power for the glory of The LORD Jesus Christ. Amen.
