Ireland, Israel, and the Nations of the world
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
God has always intended that His people stand in a priestly and governmental position on the earth—interceding, declaring, and partnering with Him for the destiny of nations. When heaven is preparing to move in a land, God first stirs His people to pray. And when darkness rises, it is the Church that God calls to contend, because national healing begins with the people of God.
Scripture shows that contending for nations is never passive. It is an act of faith, obedience, and spiritual authority. When the Lord instructed Israel concerning the land before them, He said:
“Rise, take your journey, and cross over the River Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it and engage him in battle. This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the nations...”
— Deuteronomy 2:24–25 (NKJV)
This reveals a divine pattern: God grants nations, but His people must rise, move, engage, and contend. As they obey, He releases His influence over the nations—causing spiritual climates to shift in their favour.
We contend with confidence because of who we are in Christ. Scripture declares:
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
— 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
We do not intercede as powerless individuals—we intercede as royalty, as priests, and as God’s holy nation, empowered to shape nations through prayer, prophetic declaration, and spiritual alignment.
Today, our intercession will move in three layers: first for our nation Ireland, then for Israel, and finally for all the nations of the world.
Ireland — A Nation Marked for Awakening
Ireland’s spiritual heritage is rich, and its destiny is not yet fully realized. Waves of revival, mission, and gospel expansion have flowed from this land across centuries. Yet there is still a deep call upon Ireland—a call to awaken again. The responsibility lies with the Church to contend, pray, and stand in unity so that God’s purposes may be fully established.
Israel — God’s Covenant Nation
Israel remains central to God’s redemptive plan. Scripture commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and bless Israel (Psalm 122:6). As conflicts intensify globally, the need for spiritual intercession becomes even more vital. To contend for Israel is to align ourselves with God’s covenant heart and prophetic timeline.
The Nations — The Earth Belongs to the Lord (Psalm 24:1)
Across the world, nations are shaking. Economies, governments, moral structures, and societal norms are shifting. But in God’s economy, shaking precedes harvest. He is preparing the nations for revival. When the Church rises in humility, prayer, and repentance, God heals lands and positions nations for divine visitation.
Prayer Points
1. For Yourself — Pray for a deeper understanding of your identity as a priest and king in Christ, to walk in spiritual authority, and to intercede boldly for Ireland, Israel, and the nations of the world (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6).
2. For Ireland — Pray for revival, unity, and for every stronghold resisting the gospel to be broken (Psalm 85:6 Ephesians 4:3, 2 Corinthians 10:4).
3. For the Leadership and Government of Ireland — Pray for wisdom, righteous governance, and that God will direct the hearts of leaders according to His will (1 Timothy 2:1–2; Proverbs 21:1; Psalm 72:1).
4. For Israel — Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for protection, and for God’s covenant purposes to be fulfilled (Psalm 122:6).
5. For the Nations of the world — Intercede for revival across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and beyond. Pray that the gospel will run swiftly and be glorified.
6. For Labourers — Ask the Lord to send labourers into the harvest fields of Ireland, Israel, and the nations of the world. (Matthew 9:37–38)
7. For Healing of the Land — Stand on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and pray for regions affected by conflict, moral decline, and spiritual darkness.
8. For the World Economy — Pray for stability, divine provision, and for God’s intervention in global financial systems so that righteousness prevails and nations experience His peace (Haggai 2:7–8; Philippians 4:19; Psalm 24:1).
Declaration:
I declare that as God’s royal priesthood, I rise to contend for Ireland, Israel, and the nations. I embrace my position in Christ and speak His purposes over the lands He loves. As I humble myself, seek His face, and turn from anything that hinders His move, God hears from heaven, forgives, and heals the land. Ireland is awakened. Israel is blessed. The nations are ripe for revival. God’s purposes shall stand, and His glory shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Amen.
